FAQs

Our offices are open 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. We are closed on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas and New Year Period.

All our jewellery is made of solid 925 Sterling silver which is one of the most popular precious metals used for jewellery.

Sterling Silver is made up from a ratio of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals such as copper. This is because 100% silver is too soft to create durable jewellery so stronger metals are added which is where the name 925 Sterling Silver comes from.

All our jewellery items are given a 925 stamp and in the case of small ear studs this can be found on the butterfly or on the ear post.

Yes, our products are all solid 925 sterling silver and then plated with 100% silver to give the jewellery extra shine or a plating of 14k rose gold or 14k gold as different colour options.

Our silver jewellery is not hallmarked as all items are less than 7.5 grams. A 925 stamp is added if there is enough space on the item to do so. In the case of small ear studs, the 925 stamp will be on the butterfly.

Yes, all our jewellery confirms to European, American legislation regarding lead, nickel and heavy metal content. Our jewellery is regularly tested to ensure compliance with these legislations.

E-coating or electro-coating is a clear organic lacquer that is applied to the jewellery to help prevent tarnishing. E-coat is hypoallergenic and will not cause a reaction on the skin.

All 925 sterling silver will tarnish over time but there is lots of things you can do to prevent and avoid this happening quicker!

We recommend taking off jewellery when bathing, washing or swimming and avoid it coming into contact with all strong perfumes, creams, cosmetics, hairspray, bleach or other harsh chemicals. Please see below further ways to prevent tarnishing in regards to storing and cleaning.

When the finish on our jewellery is stated as gold or rose gold it means that the solid sterling silver is plated with 18k gold or rose gold. It is not just a colouring.

How you store your jewellery will also contribute to tarnishing. We recommend that the jewellery is stored away from any strong lighting including UV lighting and direct natural sunlight. Avoiding heated areas or damp areas is also recommended.

Storing the jewellery in tarnish-resistant boxes or with silica gel pouches can be very beneficial or alternatively they can also be stored in the polyethylene zip lock bag provided. Do not store in plastic bags made of polyvinyl as due to the sulphur compounds in this material, it can cause tarnishing. Leaving butterfly backs off ear studs and necklaces and bracelets un-fastened is also beneficial.

We recommend cleaning our jewellery using only a silver cleaning cloth or using a jewellery brush with soapy lukewarm water.

Do not clean the jewellery with any silver polish, dip or cleaning products as this can strip the jewellery of its e-coat that prevents the anti-tarnishing mentioned before.
